Stop-use signs
Do not use a door that is visibly off track, leaning, binding, or supported unevenly. A loose or frayed lift cable, damaged bracket, broken spring, or separating panel is a reason to keep away and arrange an assessment.
Do not disconnect an open or damaged door from its opener to test its weight. An unbalanced door can fall. Avoid reaching into tracks, hinges, or the space between sections.
Keep protective systems working
Photo-eye and reversal systems are safety features. Do not cover, bypass, remove, or defeat them to make a door close. A door that reverses or will not close needs the cause addressed.
Follow the specific manual for routine testing and maintenance. Do not change force or travel settings based on a general online guide. If a safety test fails or the equipment behaves unexpectedly, stop using the system and contact a qualified door-system professional.
Questions for a service visit
Ask what caused the fault, which parts were assessed, and which safety checks were performed after repair. Request a demonstration of normal operation and ask about any remaining restrictions.
Keep controls out of children’s reach and never treat the moving door as a shortcut. Use a separate pedestrian entrance when possible and wait for the door to complete its travel before moving through.
